Team Project
Information systems and information services
Goal: This project will provide your team with an opportunity to identify, evaluate, and select a commercially available information system that fits the information needs of real users in organizational contexts.
Instructions:
- Form a team of 2 or 3 members.
- Select a specific type of information system of your interest –CRM, MRP, ERP, DSS, GDSS, SIS, Expert System, etc…
- Identify 3 commercially available systems of the type selected by your team.
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the systems, and compare them in terms of their functionality, usability and other 10 criteria of your choice. Please include a full definition of each one of these criteria.
- Define the profile of ideal system users, in terms of the main features and information services delivered by each system vendor.
- Create a report with your findings, and prepare a 15-minute presentation to our class.
Due date: July 12, 2007, during class time.
Evaluation: This team project represents 30 points of your final grade.
