Course goals
- Understand the nature of information and its use by individuals in diverse organization types.
- Analyze the information behavior of individuals within organizations.
- Generate effective solutions to information problems within organizations.
Course resources
- Readings: Several readings are book chapters, which will be available as course reserves at McKeldin Library on campus. You should make your own copies in advance.
- Guest speakers: Several sessions will be lead by experts in diverse fields, who will be visiting our class to share their insights and ideas, as a means to extend the concepts and theories discussed in the readings.
- Online demos and tutorials: Several class sessions will require you to prepare in advance, by trying tutorials and demos online.
- Additional resources: I will be more than happy to suggest additional readings, tutorials, and examples related to the course topics.
