Information users and their information needs

Goal: This assignment provides you with an opportunity to explore the information seeking and use behavior of a group of information users of your interest.

Instructions:

• Identify a specific group of information users of your interest – medical doctors, nurses, elementary school teachers, graduate students, etc…
• Conduct a comprehensive bibliographic research – scientific journals, books, conference proceedings – to describe the following for your information users:
  • Information needs
  • Information sources
  • Information seeking behavior
  • Information model that best represents the needs and behaviors of your group
• Create a report with your findings, and a full list of references in APA style.

Due date: June 19, 2007, during class time.

Evaluation: This assignment represents 10 points of your final grade.
